ABSTRACT
This study was carried out on assessing the health effect of pesticide exposure in agricultural worker in digare district, alkaleri local government area of bauchi state. Specifically, the study aimed to assess the level of pesticide exposure among agricultural workers in the Digare District, Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State, examine the health effect of pesticide exposure among agricultural workers in Digare District, Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State, and examine the factors that contribute to the use of pesticide among agricultural workers in Digare District, Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State. The study employed the survey descriptive research design. Questionnaire was used for data collection which was raised against a five Likert scale of Strongly Agree(SA), Agree(A), Undecided(U), Disagree(D), and Strongly Disagree(SD), and was analysed using the frequency counts, percentages, mean and standard deviation. A total of 100 respondents were conveniently selected as sample size comprising of agricultural workers in Digare District, Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State. From the responses obtained and analysed, the findings revealed that pesticide exposure has a negative health effect among agricultural workers in Digare District, Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State. On the basis of these findings, it was recommended that collaboration among government agencies, non-governmental organizations, research institutions, and local communities should be encouraged to address the complex issue of pesticide exposure. Pooling resources and expertise can lead to more effective interventions and long-term solutions.
